Baja is a great RV destination! Baja is very RV friendly, and there are many places where you can pull up your rig right onto the beach. "Honey...I'm h-o-m-e!" Probably the biggest concern with taking an RV to Baja is the width of the Baja highways. Although most of the major roads are paved and usually in pretty good condition, they are not wide, and road shoulders are not common. Still, with proper planning and a slow pace, the wide open spaces of Baja are spectacular! Some of Baja's most popular RV destinations include SAN FELIPE because it is just three hours below the US Border and offers a great Baja experience, BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES because it it way off of the beaten path but still on the blacktop, and BAHIA CONCEPCION because RV's can pull up right on the spectacular beaches within inches of the calm Sea of Cortez. RV'ers looking for a little more (offroad) adventure often head for the EAST CAPE of Baja down at the Cape.
For folks who have the RV bug but not the RV rig, EL MONTE RV and CRUISE AMERICA allow their rental rigs to go to Baja.
Two additional web sites to review for RVer's who want to tour the Baja Peninsula in an escorted RV caravan include BAJA WINTERS and BAJA AND BACK RV TOURS.
For good general information on RVs. the RECREATIONAL VEHICLE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION has a very good web site. GO R.V.ing also has some good information in the web! MEXICO, MAGIC & RV'S is a unique half hour video that shows you how to prepare for and enjoy RVing in Baja! To order call Hope Shaw at (858) 488-0984. The package also includes a handy pocket guide!
